Beekeeping Bootcamp Package 2020

About Beekeeping Bootcamp

These workshops are designed to support beginning beekeepers all the through their first season. Workshops are taught by Mario Padilla, Butterfly Pavilion Entomologist and knowledgeable beekeeper. You ll work alongside Mario and other learning beekeepers, developing the skills necessary to achieve thriving hives. Beekeeping Bootcamp is qualified through the Colorado State Beekeeping Association (CSBA)!

Cost:

Member: $150 for first participant, $50 for one additional participant

Non-member: $165 for first participant, $75 for one additional participant

BP Nature Nerds Family Club

Explore exciting nature topics with the whole family. Workshops typically take place the first Saturday of the month from 10:30 am - 12:00 pm.

COST:

Members: $6 Adults, $4 Children (2   12)
Non-members: $14 Adults, $6 Children (2   12)
Includes admission to Butterfly Pavilion

Please note:

Pre-registration and pre-payment required. Nature Nerds Family Club workshops are best suited for families with children ages 4-10.

30 person maximum per program.

Programs are not eligible for senior discounts. Children under 2 years old are free of admission, but content is not well suited for this age range.

 

 

 

Butterfly Pavilion Rainforest Yoga

Experience a rejuvenating yoga class in our tropical rainforest. Led by one of our rotating instructors, classes provide an amazing opportunity to transcend the hustle and bustle of daily life as you practice amongst the butterflies in our conservatory.

Refunds/Transfers: If you are no longer able to attend, please contact Butterfly Pavilion 48 hours before your class and you will be given the option to transfer your registration to a different date. No refunds are given once the class has been purchased, unless Butterfly Pavilion cancels the class for any reason.  No transfers will be allowed after the class has ended if the participant is unable to attend. 

 

Certified Heritage Interpreter Course

Butterfly Pavilion will provide you with the boost, or starting point, you need to complete your Certified Heritage Interpreter (CHI) certification. Over three days, you will gain professional development and work on several aspects of your submission.

 

 

Cub Scout Day

Mark your calendars for one wild time! Cub scouts are taking over Butterfly Pavilion on April 20 for a special day just for you! Join us for a day of fun activities, animal encounters, outdoor explorations to meet your adventure requirements, and much more!

Cub Scout Day Includes:

  • Access to all of our indoor and outdoor exhibits!
  • Scout self-guided scavenger hunt (which can tick off many requirements!)
  • A full schedule of scout programs, all centered on outdoor exploration, respect for plants and wildlife, and making our world a better place!
  •  Several activity stations set up throughout the Pavilion for groups to explore at their own pace
  • A certificate for having attended Cub Scout Day at Butterfly Pavilion!
  • Vendors with more games, crafts and activities!

 

Cost: • Individual Adults: $12 (members $5) • Individual Scouts and accompanying siblings ages 2-12: $8 (members $5) • Children under 2: FREE

We are happy to offer group rates for troops if you meet the following criteria: • There are 10 or more guests in your group. • You pay for the entire group with one payment. • Scout leaders will get in for free with 10 or more scouts • Basic scout troop pricing is: Adults: $10.00 (after 2 adults) Children(2-12): $6.00 (after 8 scouts) Under 2: Free, as always *includes general admission as well as extra scout activities.

Please note: 

For Leaders: Scouts will still need to purchase the badges that they earn directly through Cub Scouts, but we will have discounted Butterfly Pavilion badges and patches available in the gift shop to commemorate your experience!  

For Groups: Siblings are welcome, please list them as a child ticket. One adult per group required. Must pay for the entire group with one payment. Advanced tickets are required.

Receiving Tickets: The group leader will receive one ticket for the whole group, so your entire group must all be present to enter.

Refunds, exchanges or transfers: Cub Scout Day at Butterfly Pavilion issues no refunds, exchanges or transfers.  Please do your best to get an accurate group count upon purchasing, as you will not be able to receive a refund.

 

Family Zoo Snooze

Grab your tents and sleeping bags and get ready for a family-friendly, ZOOpendous overnight at Butterfly Pavilion!

Members: $50 per person, Nonmembers: $60 per person, Groups of 5 or more: $40 per person. Pre-registration and pre-payment required. Minimum age is 5 years old.

*Kids Only Zoo Snooze does not need an adult chaperone. Scout and Family Snoozes require one adult to attend per every 5 kids.

Kid's Night Out

Need a date night? Register your kiddos for a night of fun, exploration and learning after hours at Butterfly Pavilion! Led by experienced camp educators, this night will be complete with pizza dinner, exhibit exploration time (flashlights encouraged for the rainforest after dark!), and will end with a craft and a nature-themed video. 5:30-9pm Cost: $25 for first kiddo (non-member), $20 member $20 for additional kiddos, $18 member

Low Sensory Mornings at Butterfly Pavilion

Here at Butterfly Pavilion, we know that things can get pretty hectic with busy butterflies, bees and bodies buzzing around during the day. Join us for a low-sensory morning before we open to the public that meets the needs of families that need to experience the Pavilion in a different way. With natural lighting, quiet tones, and limited admission – this experience offers your little one an enjoyable, low-key experience just for them. Each Low Sensory Morning offers guided interpretation in each exhibit, optional activity guides, and an interactive Storytime program.

Macro Photography

Whether you’re a paparazzo or can’t figure out your camera, phone, join expert photographer Bob Krugmire for hands-on instruction that will teach you to maximize the potential of your camera! Leave with better skills, knowledge, and tons of fantastic close-up shots.  Space is limited!  Pre-registration and pre-payment are required.

Nature + Music: Butterfly Lover's Concerto

Through these unique hikes, Butterfly Pavilion & Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks seeks to bridge music and nature exploration, helping to evoke a feeling of wonder and awe of nature’s beauty and fragility. We hope you can join us on these hikes and spark your creative spirit. All are welcome! Program is free to attend, but spaces are limited.

Spring Photo Workshop - 2 Day

2 day Spring Photo Workshop led by Bob Krugmire

Saturday May 16 - Sunday May 17, 8am-11am both days.

Day 1 will meet at Butterfly Pavilion and will go over equipment, shooting, and will feature some behind the scenes special bugs for private shooting.

Day 2 will meet at Standley Lake for a tour with their head ranger and a guided shoot then head back to Butterfly Pavilion where we critique your two favorite photos from Day 1 and end with questions, more shooting time, and new-found knowledge of photography!

Great for beginner-intermediate; all levels welcome. No super fancy equipment required!

Admission and breakfast included both days.

Tripod Photography

Relish a quiet hour of tripod photography in the tropical rainforest before we open our doors to the public. Snap photos of awakening butterflies and exotic tropical flowers in the morning light. Sessions are offered monthly and begin at 7:45 am.

You may pre-register and pay online (preferred) or pay at the door.  Program is limited to 25 participants.

Cost:  $15 for non-members, $11.00 for members. Note: This session is self-guided. Participants supply own equipment.

Valentine's Day Sunset Stroll

Spend Valentine’s Day in the rainforest as we take a leisurely stroll and explore the wonders of the tropics at dusk. You’ll discover creatures seldom seen during the day, experience dusk-blooming flowers, and more on this short guided tour accompanied with lots of self-led exploration time! Cost: $15/person – non-member rate $11/person – member rate
