Besieged Bees

 

Besieged Bees  suggested ages: 3rd -  6th grade
In this empowering program presented via interactive video conference, participants compare three types of bees, discover why bees are important, investigate their population decline, and generate ideas to help conserve and restore their numbers!

BP Nature Nerds Family Club

Explore exciting nature topics with the whole family. Workshops typically take place the first Saturday of the month from 10:30 am - 12:00 pm.

COST:

Members: $6 Adults, $4 Children (2   12)
Non-members: $14 Adults, $6 Children (2   12)
Includes admission to Butterfly Pavilion

Please note:

Pre-registration and pre-payment required. Nature Nerds Family Club workshops are best suited for families with children ages 4-10.

30 person maximum per program.

Programs are not eligible for senior discounts. Children under 2 years old are free of admission, but content is not well suited for this age range.

Butterflies in our Backyard (all ages)

As spring returns, so do some beautiful pollinators! Explore the diverse and incredible world of butterflies from the migratory Monarchs to the high-altitude Hairstreak! Learn about ways you can participate in Citizen Science and monitor the butterflies where you live as we answer the question,  What butterflies live in our backyard?

Butterfly Pavilion Rainforest Yoga

Experience a rejuvenating yoga class in our tropical rainforest. Led by one of our rotating instructors, classes provide an amazing opportunity to transcend the hustle and bustle of daily life as you practice amongst the butterflies in our conservatory.

Refunds/Transfers: If you are no longer able to attend, please contact Butterfly Pavilion 48 hours before your class and you will be given the option to transfer your registration to a different date. No refunds are given once the class has been purchased, unless Butterfly Pavilion cancels the class for any reason.  No transfers will be allowed after the class has ended if the participant is unable to attend. 

 

Family Zoo Snooze

Grab your tents and sleeping bags and get ready for a family-friendly, ZOOpendous overnight at Butterfly Pavilion!

Members: $50 per person, Nonmembers: $60 per person, Groups of 5 or more: $40 per person. Pre-registration and pre-payment required. Minimum age is 5 years old.

*Kids Only Zoo Snooze does not need an adult chaperone. Scout and Family Snoozes require one adult to attend per every 5 kids.

Inclusive Denver: Equity and Accessibility Summit for Action (IDEAS for Action)

The IDEAS for Action Summit is brought to you through a partnership with Denver Arts & Venues , Butterfly Pavilion and Ecoinclusive. This year the summit will be held virtual. This event facilitates thought-provoking discussions and provides solutions-based recommendations for Justice, Equity, Diversity, Accessibility and Inclusion in Denver area nonprofits. IDEAS for Action brings together leaders and key stakeholders, and features a mix of planned and open space conference sessions intended to help Metro Denver organizations build diverse workplaces and increase community impact.
 
The Summit will host local thought leaders on equity, diversity and inclusion that will engage in dialogue and agenda building sessions. There will also be small group sessions and opportunities for collaboration to design real world solutions.

Kid's Night Out

Need a date night? Register your kiddos for a night of fun, exploration and learning after hours at Butterfly Pavilion! Led by experienced camp educators, this night will be complete with pizza dinner, exhibit exploration time (flashlights encouraged for the rainforest after dark!), and will end with a craft and a nature-themed video. 5:30-9pm Cost: $25 for first kiddo (non-member), $20 member $20 for additional kiddos, $18 member

Student scientists are challenged to use their senses to observe and interact with three live animals to solve the mystery of their connection metamorphosis!

Low Sensory Mornings at Butterfly Pavilion

Here at Butterfly Pavilion, we know that things can get pretty hectic with busy butterflies, bees and bodies buzzing around during the day. Join us for a low-sensory morning before we open to the public that meets the needs of families that need to experience the Pavilion in a different way. With natural lighting, quiet tones, and limited admission – this experience offers your little one an enjoyable, low-key experience just for them. Each Low Sensory Morning offers guided interpretation in each exhibit, optional activity guides, and an interactive Storytime program.

Macro Photography

Whether you’re a paparazzo or can’t figure out your camera, phone, join expert photographer Bob Krugmire for hands-on instruction that will teach you to maximize the potential of your camera! Leave with better skills, knowledge, and tons of fantastic close-up shots.  Space is limited!  Pre-registration and pre-payment are required.

Program $5 Admission Add-On

Add on admission for just $5 after your morning program, or before your evening program!

Tripod Photography

Relish a quiet hour of tripod photography in the tropical rainforest before we open our doors to the public. Snap photos of awakening butterflies and exotic tropical flowers in the morning light. Sessions are offered monthly and begin at 7:45 am.

You may pre-register and pay online (preferred) or pay at the door.  Program is limited to 25 participants.

Cost:  $15 for non-members, $11.00 for members. Note: This session is self-guided. Participants supply own equipment.
